This 'devil's advocate' thing...

FADS
Fads always catch on a minute later in Cowtown, Maybe that is the tunnel vision of a boy whose just spent way too many years (27) in oil Ville. I'm sure (or hope) there is more than one of you nodding your head.
Whether it may be those new Girly ties, Shabba Ranks, or Crest Whitestrips...The “It-culture” takes such a blessed long time to come from the uber-cool coastlines to little old conservative C-dot.
Now some may complain, living in those Hotbeds of “In style” that they are forever surrounded by Hot Hot Heaters…but as far as Combine Harvester goes, we would rather see the chicken/egg before the egg/chicken when it comes to new trends. (you get?)
The only exception to this Calgary conundrum is the business world, where it would seem all of our 30-somethings are SUV’d, Handsfreed, and Devil’s Advocated….?
Yes, not once, but twice today I eavesdropped upon conversations involving one hearty Devil’s Advocate, not only debating issues they did not heartily believe, but admitting to do so. In a stupor, I (the lowly waiter) pondered the existence of such a redundant banter baiter.
It seems so irrational, almost a hiccup in our social psychology to argue that which we do not believe, and admit to doing so without justification.
I could only think that in some 7 habits of highly successful sadists storybook the fashionable repartee is to become completely unintelligible.
It is as though these “what color is my parachute” jumpers decided on no parachute at all.
It’s a fad, It goes well with white earphones, and you can watch for it in your urban environment soon.

Is it time to hibernate yet, I'm sleepy.

Here is something new...The Delgados - sink or swim

and God bless SIX EYES! I don't know how you do it friend but your supplying the kids with some much needed listening material...
Interpol Antics
Modest Mouse Good News For People who like Bad News
Modest Mouse The Moon and Antarctica

Combine Harvester started when Jeff Goldblum first coined the phrase "I hate farm machinery!" What a pompous bastard. He has no idea what humanity would be if it wasn't for the innovation of great Combine Harvesters. A green fleet, and red fleet...millions and millions, saving us from the red handed, calloused ways of our fathers fathers fathers fathers. Well if Karma has any say at least jeff Goldblum's got nothing to say anymore. we can thank Cats and Dogs for that...retch.
